Y&T Fan Performs 'Mean Streak' With His Heroes; Video Available

August 6, 2007

Legendary California rockers Y&T performed two special sold-out shows at the Little Fox in Redwood City, California this past weekend that were arranged just for the longtime fans of the band. Surprises for the two nights including a raffle for a lucky audience member both nights to be brought up on stage to sing a Y&T song of his/her choice with their heroes. Video footage of one fan, Jerry D., performing the Y&T classic "Mean Streak" with the group on Saturday, August 4 can be viewed below.

The Musician's Voice has posted a new audio interview with Y&T frontman Dave Meniketti. In this interview, Dave talks about all things Y&T — including his memories of the band's early days, their hectic record/tour cycle of the 1980s, the band's devout fan base, and even the legendary "Hear 'n Aid" benefit Dave was a part of. He also talks about Y&T's scorching new DVD, "Live - One Hot Night". Download the interview as an MP3 file at this location.

Locomotive Records has confirmed an August 14 release date for the two-DVD/CD set "Live: One Hot Night" by Y&T. This Netherlands show, recorded in October of 2006, comes complete with a bonus DVD containing backstage aftershow "meet-and-greet" segments. You also get to go to the pre-show soundcheck as well as view the outtakes from the concert itself. Rounding out this must-have package for any Y&T fan is a photo gallery, a special clip from 2006's Bang Your Head!!! festival and an accompanying CD of the Netherlands show.
